Gilded Things Shine More.

When creating modern art, there may not be anything as satisfying as when your work meets a kindred spirit. A Soulmate. Whether it be an antique water gilded frame for your new deep and moody abstract on board ; or finding a three dimensional objet’ that just clicks with a recently available abstract on canvas. Extremely satisfying !

It happened recently for me. I was just finishing up a loose oil on primitive board, stylistically in the taste of Willem deKooning, i.e. lots of juxtaposed color and shrouded line. After mounting the abstract color field study into an old, worn and beaten up gold frame, I went to the back of the studio to seek a blank wall from where I could quickly hang the work to dry and cure. There waiting right below my space on the wall, upon a pedestal no doubt, was the most surreal and completely original sculpture by the esteemed Artist Abby Kasonik. They became fast friends, to strong decorative effect. The abstract painting by Roderick Coles hangs right above the Bespoke turquoise and gold sculpture by Abby Kasonik. Modern Art together like peanut butter and chocolate.
